Shiners Garden Farm

Helping with the help of animals.

Our aim at Shiner’s Garden Farm is to bring people and animals together. Animals accept you just as you are and at Shiner's we understand the enormous therapeutic benefits of being with animals.

We provide a relaxed atmosphere where our visitors can enjoy contact with our animals and be given time to simply be, away from everyday life.

The Garden Farm is set in a secluded walled garden & orchard away from the public eye.

We have lots of animals including: an old horse, two ponies, a goat, ducks, pigs, a tremendous number of cockerels, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs.

Originally open to the public selling herbs and flowers, we are now a not-for-profit organisation whose main aim is to provide a therapeutic place where visitors can enjoy the garden, as well as contact with our collection of animals. We welcome all sorts of visitors by prior appointment.

We are particularly focused on assisting young people who, for a variety of reasons, need additional support. For this reason we are currently seeking funding for fully accessible facilities where both disabled and able-bodied people can enjoy time spent with the animals.

Set in over an acre of gardens, including a walled garden and orchard, you can find Shiner's Garden Farm adjacent to the church in the picturesque village of Newton St Loe, 3 miles from the centre of Bath, not far from Bath Spa University College.
