Westons Cider

Established in 1880 we make our traditional English cider in the way people want cider to taste.

Westons cider has been lovingly produced in the Herefordshire village of Much Marcle for over 125 years and throughout this time we have never wavered in our commitment to making the very best quality, traditional cider, with a characteristic rich style and a flavour simply bursting with fruit.

Our extensive range of ciders and perries, skillfully crafted by our Master Cider Maker to age old recipe, offer every palate a style and flavour suitable for every drinking occasion. Sparkling, still, oak conditioned, vintage or organic, the choice is yours.

Nestling on a gentle hillside amongst apple and perry pear orchards 'The Bounds' with its 400 year old farmhouse is the centre piece to a unique day out for all the family to enjoy.

Join a Guided Tour around the mill and savour the aromas of traditional cidermaking. Hear how cider is produced from the planting of the orchards to the moment it is poured. Stroll through the Henry Weston Courtyard Garden and into a converted 17th century cowshed to see one of the world's largest bottle collections during your visit.

With Shire Horse Dray Rides, a Restaurant-Café serving wonderful homemade food, a Traditional & Rare Breeds Farm Park (open from Good Friday to end of September) and a Children's Playground where the children can let off steam while you enjoy sampling the wide selection of ciders and perries FREE, there is something for everyone.

"Henry Weston, my great-grandfather came to 'The Bounds' at Much Marcle, Herefordshire in 1878 and continued the tradition of using fruit from the farm orchards to make cider and perry. Making and drinking cider and perry formed part of the pattern of life in the country. The development of commercial cider making began in 1880 when Henry recognised the threat from overseas imports, which had been created by the British Empire."

Today, our traditionally produced, award winning draught and bottled products are not only available throughout the UK, but are exported to more than 25 countries worldwide. From supermarkets to local off licences, in hotels, restaurants, pubs and clubs you will find Westons products, continuing in our heritage of quality."

"Our wide range of ciders and perries from cloudy scrumpy through to organic, sparkling vintage, is constantly subject to strict quality control and a policy of innovation keeps us ahead of the competitive cider market. Based at the original farm 'The Bounds', Westons Cider employs more than 130 people, produces over 30 different ciders and perries, sells approximately 28 million pints a year and has a turnover of over £24 million."

Part of our continued development has included our Visitors Centre, which is open to the public all year round. It comprises of an award winning courtyard garden, originally featured at the Hampton Court Palace Flower show in 2002, a Traditional and Rare Breeds Farm Park and Orchard Walk, a Restaurant and Café and a Gift and a Cider Shop where you can sample all our Ciders and Perries."

"I have been Managing Director since 1996 and during that time the changes to Westons Cider, as a company, have been incredible. It has been rewarding to take the Company forward to where we are today, along with my family and my committed employees."
