A place to get healthy, happy and fit in Newport Pembs.

There has been a ‘Wholefoods Shop’ (Bwydydd Cyflawn Trethdreath) in Newport, Pembrokeshire for over 20 years. It has been in various locations and run by different people over this period, but has been situated in the Old Bakery (Yr Hen Bopty) in the middle of Newport for the last 8 years (see map). Over this period, it has grown into a very extensive and well regarded provider of wholefoods (both organic and non-organic) and now, a great deal more. Our product range includes the following:

Wholefoods: We carry well over 3000 varieties of wholefood products from the main suppliers to the independent wholefoods sector. Over 70 per sent of our range of foods are organic. A significant portion of our foods are geared to a variety of customers including those who have food intolerances (wheat, gluten etc.) and we do our best to source and support special requirements for those who need them. We pack products from bulk to bring the best value to our customers and have an extensive range of frozen sweet and savoury products.

Local Produce: We carry an extensive range of high quality local produce including local farmhouse cheeses, milk, yoghurts, an wide range of breads, free range and organic eggs, fresh organic vegetables and fruit, and fresh herbs are available on a regular basis. We also carry a wide range of local honeys to complement our international honeys including manuka honey.

Cleaning Products: We have a comprehensive range of household & domestic cleaning products of an environmentally friendly nature.

Remedies and Supplements: Our numerous suppliers provide us with a wide selection of natural remedies and food supplements.

Body Care: We also have an extensive range of hygiene and body care products and baby care products.

Organic Wine, Beer and Spirits: Apart from a few local fortified wines and beers, all of our extensive range of wine, beer and spirits are organic (easier on the environment and your head the next morning) including carefully selected low cost beverages through to some very high quality wines.

Snacks & Refreshments: We carry a range of tasty savoury vegetarian and sweet snacks, made to order rolls and a wide selection of hot and cold drinks to be consumed either in our cosy “café “ corner or to take out.

Books: We now carry a comprehensive range of novels, books on food and health, local and Welsh interest books, books on the natural environment, an extensive range of “Pembrokeshire type” outdoor pursuits and a significant selection on the environment and sustainability.

CDs – Music & Speech: Our 3 major suppliers of CDs are Naxos, Proper Music and Putumayo catering for a wide range of musical taste including classical, jazz, blues, folk, Welsh traditional, nostalgia and a wide range of World Music. We also have a selection of CDs from local recording artists.

Gifts, Bags & Craft Products: We carry a comprehensive selection of gifts & craft objects and a good range of practical & stylish for shopping and general use. We also stock numerous locally produced cards and some local craft items.
