Tillingham Grown Organic Vegetables
On our family farm in Tillingham, Essex, we have 25 acres of organic land registered with the Soil Association - this is where my Dad and I (Sarah Green) grow a wide variety of seasonal organic vegetables and fruit. This fresh, organic produce is then made available to our customers through our Farm Shop, located in North Street, Tillingham; we also stock eggs, produced from our flock of 700 free range chickens as well as Lamb and Beef from Beatbush Farm Foods, Marriages Organic Flour, James White Organic Fruit Juices and a selection of organic biscuits, cereals and cooking essentials.
From May until the end of September every week is spent busy planting, weeding, irrigating and harvesting. This is essential to ensure we are able to provide our customers with a continuous supply of fresh seasonal vegetables which have only travelled ½ a food mile to the shop! As the seasons vary, so do the vegetables we harvest. For example: in the summer we sell new potatoes, broad beans, peas, bunched carrots, cucumbers, beetroot, lettuce, courgettes, fennel, radish, tomatoes, aubergines, strawberries and raspberries and in the winter months we're harvesting parsnips, leeks, sprouts, cabbage, celeriac, garlic, curly kale, sprouting broccoli and potatoes - plus much more!
Sarah Green's Organics offers a weekly Box Scheme of fresh organic vegetables to the residents of the Dengie Peninsular and our Tillingham grown organic produce can also be purchased from Sally Green's shop
