Butcher of Brogdale

Welcome to The Butcher of Brogdale, Faversham, Kent.

The Brogdale Butchers not only sell rare breed meat that has been raised as nature intended - in a stress free environment but also pickles, jams and conserves alongside cakes and other luxury items; even hand patted butter.

Situated on a farm in the heart of the National Fruit Collection the Butcher of Brogale exceeds all expectations. Lee takes great pride in the fact that the meat he sells comes from local farms that he personally inspects. There are no battery farmed animals here just the ones that our great grandparents would probably recognise and we see grazing in nearby fields.

All of our meat is traditionally raised slowly in a stress free natural environment without all of the additives and antibiotics that are required for intensively reared animals. When the time comes for the animal to be slaughtered they are handled with care so that they do not become stressed, after all a contented animal produces better quality meat than one that has been deprived of decent living conditions and travels vast distances to the abattoir.

The Butchers of Brogdale have plenty of experience; in fact two members of staff have 80 years butchery expertise between them! The Butchers of Brogdale also supply locally made cheeses and other delicacies.

The demand for locally sourced products has grown and we feel that our customers feel comforted in the knowledge that they know exactly where their meat and other produce has come from and the manner in which it has been raised/made. Brogdale Butchers are masters of an art that has been forgotten in many shops and is a welcome surprise for new visitors – friendly, expert guidance; giving advice when required on what and how much to cook as well as several different ways of cooking it!
