Based in the beautiful county of Somerset, with its rich pastures and farming heritage, we are an award-winning producer making a range of speciality products to enrich your food and add a depth of flavour to simple ingredients.

Surrounded by some of the finest dairy farms in the country, we are ideally located to source creamy farmhouse butter, direct from farms which have a wealth of farming integrity and expertise. Fittingly, our first products in the ‘enrich your food’ range are based on one of the land’s richest dairy products – Creamy Farmhouse Butter.

By adding seasonal flavours, many of which are sourced from award winning producers, to a delicious base of Somerset Farmhouse Butter, we have created a range which can be stirred, melted or added to everyday foods to add a depth of flavour, excitement and creativity.

Each Butter is made using only fine ingredients, many of which have been sourced locally from specialist producers. There are five Butters in our range, Wholegrain Mustard, Spiced Honey, Roast Garlic, Lime & Chilli and Somerset Cider Brandy – each perfectly balanced with fresh citrus flavours, spicy warmth or an alcoholic kick.

Great Taste – and an award to prove it! Winning Gold last year in the Great Taste Awards, our Wholegrain Mustard Butter is made using Tracklements Wholegrain and Dijon mustard - perfect stirred into gravies, mashed into potatoes or sliced onto grilled steak. Also winning awards was our Spiced Honey Butter, which is sweetened with West Country Honey and spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger - delicious spread onto bread for bread and butter pudding.

Each Markus Somerset Farmhouse Butter is packed in a waxed roll so it will keep fresh in your fridge for up to four weeks. Recipe suggestions are included on each pack, but please email any other recipes you may create and we will add them to our site!
