The many WOW resources and activities you will discover here have been created for children aged 7-11 years and their teachers, group leaders and families.

Whether you are planning a school visit or a day out they are designed to help you safely explore the canals, rivers and waterways of Britain. If you work in education, volunteer as a brownie or scout leader or you just want to learn more about our waterways then this is the place for you!

Meet and Greet events - Become a WOW Education Volunteer.

Do you enjoy making a difference to children's lives? Ever considered working with a dedicated education team? British Waterways Education Team 'Wild Over Waterways' is on the lookout for people to join them in delivering its exciting programme to children, young people and families.

Come along to one of our 'Meet & Greet' events in February or March, where you can meet WOW volunteers face to face and find out what they enjoy about volunteering for WOW.

Meet & Greet dates: All the events are running 11am until 2pm.

16th February - Foxton Locks, near Market Harborough, Leicestershire

23rd February - Cambrian Wharf, Birmingham Central Canals

5th March - Fradley Junction, Fradley, near Alrewas, Lichfield

9th March - Hatton Locks, Hatton, near Warwick

23rd March - Gloucester Waterways Museum, Gloucester Docks

Being a WOW Education Volunteer offers a wide range of roles based on individual interests, skills and experience. These roles could involve: Leading school visits, helping Cub Scouts & Brownies with their badges, researching waterway history and writing children's resources, administration support, website design.
