Burnt Sugar Limited

Random acts of sweetness.

We love to make sweets that capture the naturally indulgent taste of caramel and bring them to grown-up lovers of confectionery. Always proper. Always mischievous. And occasionally adventurous. Just like Burnt Sugar sweetie-loving customers. One thing you learn when you make sweets, is that it all just somehow happens or not. It's so easy for it to go slightly, or completely, wrong - it happened to us once. Yes, we burnt the sugar (but only once). It wasn't all bad because it made us realise we needed a little reminder - to make sure we never did it again. So that's what we called ourselves - Burnt Sugar - (because we also realised we needed a name).

We were chuffed to be invited to sell our hand made crumbly fudge at the first ever Borough Market over 10 years ago and have been selling it there ever since. Being passionate foodies, we wanted to experiment with other sticky, caramelly, indulgent sweets. Our latest creations include Fluffy Nougat oozing with caramel ripples, Squidgy Toffees, made with a splash of balsamic to bring out an intense flavour, and our very grown-up Chewy Caramels (made with three types of sugar) and dipped in dark chocolate.
