The Magdaln Project

A charity caring for people and he environment.
There is nowhere quite like The Magdalen Project. Situated in the stunning countryside on the Somerset/Dorset border yet only minutes from the dramatic Jurassic coast. The Magdalen Project is both a resource for learning and a place for experience.
Set in a conversation area, our vision for Magdalen is to create a vibrant, inspirational environment to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.
Rivers, woodlands, fields and farmland. Youll find then all in the 132 acres of land at Magdalen. Our farmland, where we grow much of our own food, is managed organically whilst the landscape beyond is a great place to explore an exciting range of wildlife.
The Magdalen Project consists of a residential centre at the heart of 132 acre organic farm located on the Dorset/Somerset Borders yet only minutes from the dramatic Jurassic Coast featuring Lyme Regis.
The farm is owned by the environmental charity The Wessex Foundation. Here a diverse range of managed and natural habitats provide the basis for a wide range of courses, workshops and eco-adventures, encouraging children and adults to learn new skills, enjoy new experiences and develop a greater understanding of the countryside and a more sustainable approach to life.
The 19th Century farm buildings have been imaginatively converted into a multi-purpose centre which includes seminar and teaching rooms, a dining room / meeting hall and accommodation for up to 36 people.
The centre is based around a landscaped south facing courtyard with views out across the Dorset countryside. When the weathers good, this is just the place to linger over coffee and flapjacks.
For a night under the stars, Magdalen also has its own campsite complete with two tipis, fire pit and composting toilets. The campsite is a popular choice for school and youth groups as well as our adult visitors who enjoy the great outdoors.
